Frisco Tech Company Seeks Donated Tablets to Help Local Charity

FRISCO, Texas – April 30, 2014 – Keith Summit, owner and president of mytech helpdesk, announced today that the company is seeking donations of gently used tablets that will be refurbished and then donated to the children supported by local charity, Kenna’s Kids.

Kenna’s Kids is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that reaches out to families with children experiencing medical challenges at a young age. The charity began in 2008 when Frisco parents Matt and Sunshine were told their daughter was born with metopic synostosis, a medical condition in which the front of her skull was abnormally fused shut. At nine months old, Kenna required surgery to help correct this problem. With medical bills totaling more than $100,000, friends Jeremy and Kat Pigott organized a charity golf tournament to help cover their medical expenses.

From those humble beginnings, the charity has flourished and continues to add more children to its organization year after year. This year, Kenna’s Kids is supporting six children and plans to raise funds for medical expenses through a highly publicized annual golf tournament along with other beneficiary events including the Frisco Women’s League’s 2014 Mother and Daughter Tea.

Mytech helpdesk, a local IT service provider, joined forces with Kenna’s Kids last year to provide refurbished tablets to the children supported by this charity. Mytech solicits donations of new, gently used or even broken tablets that they repair and update. These electronics are then given to Kenna's Kids so they can pass the time during their hospital stays by playing games or watching movies. “We’ve had good luck in the past with generous donors helping us with this cause,” said Keith Summit. “We’re hoping the community can come together again and donate six tablets so that each child this year will be able to receive their very own gift.” For more details or to donate a tablet, please contact Keith at 469-400-2531.
